about

As the east coast braces for the impact of Hurricane Matthew we wanted to share a new track off the forthcoming Infowars album that has some relevance to current events. "Cajun Navy" is written in dedication of the men and women who volunteer and risk their lives in an effort to save their family, friends and neighbors from natural disasters such as floods and hurricanes. Here at Team Sollee we support those going out of their way to help others in need and applaud them for their efforts.

We hope that you will join us in supporting those in need by purchasing "Cajun Navy" on Bandcamp. A portion of the proceeds from sales starting today through next Friday will be donated to OXFAM who are helping relief efforts in all areas affected by the storm.

lyrics

Cajun Navy
Ben Sollee, vocals and cello with effects
Jordon Ellis, percussion

Late in the summer
Came an endless rain
Didn’t have a number
Didn’t have a name

Then came the cameras
And the preacher man
To pray for Louisiana
All over again

It flood their house just the same
It wrecked their car just the same
It stole their dreams just the same
A storm is a storm by any other name

Call out the navy, the Cajun Navy
The good ol’ boys and girls are at it again
When the storm is ragin’ trust in a Cajun
They won’t let you down

~

Call it a deluge
A “thousand year rain”
But you save the sirens
For the hurricanes

Pack all your memories
In the kiddie pool
Paddle down the streets
Of ol’ Baton Rouge

It flood their house just the same
It wrecked their car just the same
It stole their dreams just the same
A storm is a storm by any other name

Call out the navy, the Cajun Navy
The good ol’ boys and girls are at it again
When the storm is ragin’ trust in a Cajun
They won’t let you down
